IPM is a way of servicing homes in the pest control industry. It doesn’t rely just on chemical to control pest/rodent infestations. As we go through this series we will target specific pests each week and have tips on natural ways home owners can reduce harborage areas around homes. Many companies have gotten away from treating baseboards inside homes as one way to reduce chemical exposure. Pests don’t nest in those areas or enter the home on the baseboards, for the most part.
Most commonly pests enter the home through cracks around windows/doors where weather stripping has deteriorated for one reason or another. Ensuring your home has tight seals on the windows and doors is one small step to help keep your home pest free.
