Rodent Control

Because you should never have to worry about rodents in your home!

Let Us Help You Get Rid Of Rodents

As the population of Atlanta grows, it’s unfortunate that the rodent population has increased as well. Having a rodent problem doesn’t mean you have a dirty house. Mice, rats, etc. simply want what we all want – a nice place to live.

When it comes to getting rid of rodents, there are three basic methods: trapping, baiting, and exclusion. To determine which method makes the most sense for your situation, it’s really important that we do a thorough inspection.

If trapping seems to be the best method, we tend to use glue traps or spring traps inside a home, attic, or crawl space. Once we remove all the rodents, we make every effort to find and seal the points of entry which are typically easy to close off to prevent their return.

Rodent Baiting

When it comes to preventative rodent control, using baits should only be considered once the pests have been removed. Otherwise, the toxins in the baits will cause the rodents to die inside the walls which will create a serious odor problem. It’s our policy to only use rodent baiting after the population has been completely removed and the entry points have been sealed.

You often see baits used outside of restaurants and other commercial establishments to help control the rodent population. This is definitely a long-term prevention strategy. More and more people are turning to baits as a way of controlling rodents around their homes as well.

If you suspect that you have a rodent problem in your home or neighborhood, please contact us today and let us help you develop a rodent prevention program. We’re here to help you with any pest control needs.

Signs That You Have A Rodent Problem

Here are a few telltale signs that you have a rodent problem in your home:

Rodent Droppings Or Urine Odor

Clearly, if you see any type of droppings that you don’t recognize, it can be a sign that you have some uninvited rodents in your house. Mouse droppings are small and usually less than a quarter of an inch and pointed on both ends. Rat droppings are usually a half an inch or larger. Rodent urine has a strong, musky odor that can be easily smelled if you have a larger infestation.

You See One

Obviously, if you see a mouse, rat, or other types of rodent in your home, you now have a problem. Where there’s one, there are usually more, and once they are inside, they don’t tend to have a reason to leave. That’s definitely when you need to call us.

Gnawed Holes Or Claw Marks

When rodents travel along walls in a house, they often leave oily rub marks behind. If you rub the mark and it smears, it’s a fresh indicator that a rodent has been there recently. If you see gnaw marks along the baseboards or door frames, these can also be an indicator of a problem.

Rodent Nests

If you find a cache of shredded paper, string, or other materials, this is how rodents tend to build their nests once they are indoors. Roof rats typically build their nests in attics indoors.

Strange Noises

Most people know that rodents are nocturnal, so if you hear scratching noises at night, it could be rodents scurrying along the floors or behind the walls.

Strange Pet Reactions

Your dog or cat can often help you discover whether you have a rodent problem. Pets smell and hear rodents better than we often do, so they will bark at certain areas of the house or scratch around certain areas trying to get at the rodents.

Types Of Rodents We See

Around Atlanta, we tend to see a wide variety of types of rodents, but the most common we see are:
